Windrose TherapyWelcome Therapy Techniques Help for Parents Qualifications
I am glad you have found me because I would like to help.
Sometimes we find ourselves on a path that we definitely don’t want to be on, but we are unsure which direction to take. Maybe events and experiences from the past are suddenly triggered, bringing unwanted and overpowering feelings. Perhaps our life is thrown into turmoil through stress, anxiety, OCD symptoms, trauma, addiction or loss.
Because the mind is as complex as the body, it’s often difficult to just “pull yourself together” and carry on. Talking through the problems with a trained, experienced professional, who is on your side and wants you to find your way, can make a huge difference.
For 16 years, I have been using counselling and coaching techniques to enable people to step away from their struggles to lead the lives they truly want. This might mean coming to terms with trauma or terrible times from your past. It could be about understanding why you feel so stressed, worried and burdened by day-to-day responsibilities. You may be looking to feel calmer, more relaxed, less tired and worn out. Whatever the issue, challenge or pain and no matter how long it has been with you, we can tackle it together and find the right solutions for you. Often people begin to feel a wonderful sense of release within just a few sessions.
Why work with me?
I qualified as a coach at the internationally renowned Coaching Academy and as a counsellor at British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy-accredited training establishments.
As a member of BACP, I am committed to an ongoing programme of personal and professional development. This is to make sure I stay up-to-date with skills, ideas and techniques. I receive monthly supervision to ensure I am practising ethically and in the best interests of my clients at all times.
Just as importantly, I have had the kind of life experiences that help me to connect with what my clients are going through. I have spent hundreds of hours focused on helping people to feel happier and more in control of their lives.
Know that everything you tell me in our sessions will be handled confidentially, under the BACP Ethical Framework for practice. Please note that I work with adults and couples aged from 17 onwards regardless of race, religious beliefs, gender identity or sexual orientation.
I look forward to hearing from you so we can begin your personalised therapy.
The first step is to call or email me so we can arrange a free 15-minute phone call. This is to determine if I am the right counsellor for you. If I am not, I will help you to find someone who is. We can think about what will work best for you: either brief therapy (usually around six sessions) or open-ended counselling, which allows time for deeper issues to be resolved.
We can then arrange to meet in person in a relaxing, private therapy room in Petersfield, Hampshire - straight off the A3 (London-Portsmouth). The location is in the heart of the South Downs National Park in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, close to Midhurst, Chichester, Portsmouth, Winchester, Haslemere and Guildford. Parking is free. Petersfield is accessible by National Rail (South West Trains), with the therapy room a 20-minute walk or five-minute taxi journey from the station.
Sometimes, meeting in person is not possible so I also offer Skype and telephone counselling sessions, giving you the flexibility to have your therapy wherever you are, at work or home, in England or abroad. Counselling is £45 for weekly or fortnightly sessions. After our initial work together, some clients choose to have monthly sessions, and these are charged at £50. Counselling is £55 for the first six sessions and £45 each session thereafter if we continue to meet on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Some clients continue to have sessions on a monthly basis, and these are charged at £50. I use a range of techniques and approaches that are tailored to you as an individual. As well as counselling, which helps what is unconscious come into consciousness and gives a clearer understanding of the reasons you feel and react the way you do, I also use coaching or CBT techniques if appropriate. These are more action-orientated and goal-focused, and used to bring about specific change to make things better for you.
In addition, I can introduce hypnotherapy techniques that can clear problems quickly once they have come to light. The Rewind Technique is one of the most efficient and effective of all therapy techniques. We can use this to remove phobias, anxieties and panic attacks, to settle and let go of trauma symptoms from the past or present, and separate uncomfortable or overpowering emotions from memories, experiences or disturbing events so you no longer become triggered. It is also part of the therapy for OCD. Its success rate is documented through hundreds of thousands of treatments and is based on the latest research of how the brain operates. Brainspotting is another powerful tool that we can use to locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally charged physical symptoms. Using eye positions to help the mind and body heal, it is an internationally-renowned approach.
Help for Parents
Becoming a parent can be one of the most exhausting, overwhelming and challenging experiences you can face in your lifetime. As a parent-to-be, you may have fear or anxiety about the upcoming birth. After your child is born, you may feel you are riding a rollercoaster as you enter each new stage.
I have extensive experience and training in working with parents to become the mother or father they want to be.
Research shows that counselling can bring about recovery from those suffering from post-natal depression. Sessions also can be useful and effective if you face fertility issues or have a child with special needs or specific learning challenges such as autism or dyslexia.
